Concerned About Ridesharing With Strangers

I meet people every once in a while who tell me who would use your website, because even if you are connecting people for ridesharing but those people are complete strangers so who would want to ride a car with a stranger. And I agree that this is a very valid concern people have. Yes personal safety is intrinsic to all living beings. And for highly evolved species like ourselves it becomes completely imperative to be safe.

Having said that, have we ever wondered by the time we are 3 years old we start having friends. Yes, I agree that at three years of age all our friends were most probably the kids of our parents friends. But when at three we start pre school or a play school we start making friends with kids who were completely strangers to us. And there on our journey of making friends with unknown people start either from elementary, middle or high school. Yes I agree that even here there was some common thread between me and my friend and that common thread is a very big safety net. That gives us some level of comfort that yeah if they study in the same school then their parents must be having a similar financial status and they must be educated and so on and so forth. Same thing applies even when we go in to work for a company we make friends with complete strangers but again there is a common factor and that is that we both work for the same company.

Keeping the same thing in mind CarpoolAssist had designed the feature where you can choose (using our advanced search options) that you want to share the ride with a person who has something in common with you. May be you can say that you want to rideshare only with a person who works for the same company, same college, same school or who shares some common interest with you.

And even after you have found a rideshare partner using above criteria you should follow our Carpool Guidelines to familiarize yourself further with your rideshare partner.

Happy Carpooling !
